I believe that alongside education, children need access to play activities to reach their full potential. I envisage a world where all children have access to areas where they can explore, learn, develop and play.
That is why I'm asking you to help me with this project. First, let me introduce myself. My name is Ken Biddington and I work as a teacher in a French community college in New-Brunswick, Canada. Every three months or so I go to Haiti to train new teachers at the Marlk-Gallagher Vocational School in Rivière-Froide. He's the RCMP officer that died during the earthquake in 2010. In two weeks (April 10th), I'll be going for my 4th mission and planning on going on three more missions in the next year.
A very nice school was built after the earthquake to accomodate over 1000 students, but they don't have a place to play. I've witness many children playing soccer in the streets and on hills; that does not work well when you're playing soccer. :) Recently, the Jourdain Family has given a nice field (80m x 75m) to build a playground and soccer fields. This area is very mountanous, so the fields need alot of work. It's the best piece of land for this purpose.
I'm asking for your support for this project, every dollar helps.
Thanks,
Ken Biddington
